Prominence Phase 1 & 2 – Liberty, Missouri
Driven by a combination of recent industrial, commercial and residential development, the city of Liberty, Missouri, continues to experience significant growth. To prepare a key area on the south side for future industrial and multi-family development, developers needed an extension of the existing sanitary sewer main.
After permits were issued in November 2023, the owner of the property, Prominence Holdings, hired Havens Construction to construct the approximately 4,500 linear feet of a new city-owned gravity sewer system to service the area — a project with a contract value of just under $1.8 million. A subcontractor began clearing nine acres of trees in January 2024, and the Havens crew began work in April and working through August.
The newly completed sewer line closely follows a creek through the future development area with tight construction easements of just 75 feet. Phase 1 connected to the existing main and crosses Withers Road, while Phase 2 traversed the area across Cambell Drive, eventually terminating at South Liberty Parkway.
“Liberty is home, so we were thrilled to once again work with local partners on future growth in this area,” said Eric Havens, president of Havens Construction. “We’ve built such solid relationships with everyone here, and we’re excited to be a part of Liberty’s continued progress.”
